Alienation of Affection is a cause of action against the paramour of a spouse. It is a tort requiring a genuine marital relationship that has ceased because of the acts of a third party. The lawsuit is for monetary damages. Please discuss with us if you think this may have application to your case, or if you are a defendant in an alienation case.
WARNING: Separation may NOT protect your paramour. Under certain circumstances, your paramour may be sued unless you are divorced.
